Florida light pollution image by NASA made in 2012
Above is Jupiter at opposition (when it's closest to us and as big as it gets) the night of Feb. 6-7, as shot by me here in Central Florida. I dusted off the 8" f/8.5 newtonian and used an old Panasonic Lumix camera in video mode to capture around 2800 frames, stacked in Registax 6.
The above is a 3 frame GIF animation of Jupiter's rotation using images I acquired through my 8" scope at opposition Feb 6th-7th, 2015.
